Beetle-Release Day
After months of preparation, Water Department employees and Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation volunteers were ready for the arrival of 5400 Galerucella beetles, which were delivered in a large box by FedEx. This is the index for a photo album showing the release of the beetles in the Little Fresh Pond wetland in the morning, and the release of beetles in potted "beetle nursery" loosestrife plants at Kingsley Park in the evening.
