Beetle Nurseries
Hannah Wilbur places a sprig of purple loosestrife with beetles on it into the net cage of one of the beetle nurseries. The goal of this phase of the Purple Loosestrife Biocontrol Project is to determine whether we can raise our own beetles on-site, as an efficient and cost-effective method for distributing beetles among widespread stands of purple loosestrife.
