Red Maple (Acer rubrum) Flowers

Red Maples are among the most abundant native
deciduous trees in the eastern half of North America.
They grow in many habitats ranging from swamps to
dry rocky hillsides. It is said that during all seasons
there is some part of a red maple tree that is red.

These flowers appear to be female. Red maples can
have flowers of all one gender, or a mixture of both
male flowers and female flowers.
