Fascinating Fungi of Fresh Pond
Each October since 2005, mycologist Lawrence Millman has led a program for mushroom enthusiasts, during which he and participants explore the woods of Fresh Pond Reservation in search of fungi for Larry to identify. His Reservation inventory today is close to 300 species. During this walk, Larry identified 3 new species: Gymnopilus spectabilis (Big Laughing Gym), Perenniporia subacida, and Marasmius pyrrhocephalus
