Fascinating Fungi of Fresh Pond
Mycologist Larry Millman always finds fungi when he leads a walk at Fresh Pond, and usually he adds a few new species to our Fresh Pond Fungus inventory. In the left photo he explains that this fall, following a dry summer, most fungi would be found of dead wood, because wood holds moisture better than soil. Indeed, we did find many species on wood, including this beautiful specimen of Merulius tremellosus.
