Winter Twig Identification
This Friends group program offered people the opportunity to identify trees found at Fresh Pond Reservation - while warm and comfortable indoors. Participants were given a bag of 10 twigs, a "Winter Tree Finder Guide," by May Theilgaard Watts and Tom Watts, a twig chart, and lots of input from co-leaders Elizabeth Wylde and Betsy Meyer. Those who were able to identify all ten of the twigs were given a second bag with about 12 more difficult-to-identify twigs. This was an enjoyable learning experience for everyone (including theleaders.)
