Survey of Aquatic Plants at Black's Nook
Since 2007, the Friends group has conducted annual surveys of the plants growing in this pond. Plant species are an indicator of the health of the pond ecosystem. This year no non-natives were found. Shown here are Pickerelweed, Pontederia cordata (large leaves), Water Smartweed, Polygonum amphibium (medium sized), and Coontail, Ceratophyllum sp.
