Cosmos, Cosmos bipinnatus
The Lusitania Meadow is aglow with these white to dark pink flowers. Although not native to New England, they were included in the seed mix that was spread on the meadow so that in its first year there would be flowers. The native perennial wildflowers that will eventually dominate the meadow will take several years before they are ready to flower.
