Northern Lady
          Fern, Athyrium filix-femina
This common fern can be recognized by its lacy appearance, "hairy"
legs with scattered brown scales, elongated spore covers (sori) on the
back of fertile fronds, and its loosely circular growth pattern. Specimens
are growing near the Water Department building, inside the fence on
          the Pond side.
