Heart-leaved Aster, Aster cordifolius
with Tansy, tanacetum vulgare, yellow
In September the shady slopes of the Huron Avenue
hillside seem to be illuminated by the abundant
white-violet flowers of these shade-loving wildflowers.
This is the species most often found-and pulled out as a weed-
in flower gardens.
