Mallard, Anas platyrhynchos (male, in breeding plumage)
If they were not so common, Mallards would attract
admirers from far and wide to marvel at their beautiful
coloring and curled tail feathers. The head can look either
green or purple depending on the light. This bird swam close to the bank of Little Fresh Pond, looking for a handout.
