Oxeye Daisies (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum)
and Cow Vetch (Vicia cracca)
The bioswales in front of the Walter J Sullivan
Water Treatment Facility on Fresh Pond Parkway
provide a moist environment that encourages lush
plant growth such as shown in this photo.
The bioswales were designed
to capture rainwater runoff
from the Water Department parking lot and the highway
and slowly filter it into drains that eventually empty into the
Little River at Alewife Reservation.
