Epipactis helleborine
Orchids at Fresh Pond Reservation! This woodland plant
is an Old World orchid originating in Europe. The two-foot tall
stalk has many individual flowers which are about ½ inch across.
A few of these plants are growing among some Japanese
knotweed near Black's Nook. Small red ants seem to find them attractive.
