Weir Meadow Swale
The Weir Meadow swale provides year-round food and habitat
for birds and small mammals. Because they are protected from
trampling by people and dogs, the grasses and other understory
plants flourish; and in winter their seeds provide food, while
their dead stems and leaves create a tangled mass under which
animals can find shelter.
