White Ash (Fraxinus Americana)
The bladed seeds, called "samaras," of ash trees, are an important
winter food for animals. Squirrels will climb far out on swaying twigs
to reach them. Because there is an unusually small crop of acorns this year,
ash seeds may be in high demand.
