Wood Anemones (Anemone cinquefolia)
These delicate woodland flowers are spring ephemerals;
herbaceous plants that appear and bloom early in the season
before tree leaves begin to block the sun's rays. They will
die back early in the summer and remain dormant
until next spring.
The plants in this
photo are growing in a patch near the
Beech Path, which follows the ridge in back of Neville Place.
