Two Fresh Pond Reservation Volunteer Programs

The Fresh Pond Reservation Stewardship Program

The Stewardship Program brings Fresh Pond Reservation users together on a regular basis to monitor plants, conduct maintenance activities, and to learn about the ecology and history of the area. Projects that are being planned for this summer include invasive plants removal, Purple Loosestrife nursery monitoring, plant succession quadrat monitoring in the butterfly meadow and Lusitania meadow, bird box monitoring, and more. Fresh Pond Reservation users are getting involved. Come take part! E-mail Hannah Wilbur at fpr@cambridgema.gov to receive weekly updates and schedules.

Pond Partners Program

This Program is for larger groups interested in volunteering for a day or a few days of work. Working directly with Reservation Rangers, Pond Partners help with large-scale projects such as trail maintenance, clean-ups and plantings. For information on current projects and to arrange for a workday email fpr@cambridgema.gov or call 617-349-6489.
