Fresh Pond Herb Walk
Steph Zabel (facing camera in photo) of Flowerfolk Herbal Apothecary
shared with us her knowledge of the uses of common plants that grow
as weeds on the Reservation and in all of our neighborhoods. Some are
medicinal, like common and English plantain, both of which can be used
to stop itching. Many, such as dandelion greens, oxalis and purslane,
can be eaten in salads. Others can be made into tea, including wild
violet, rose and linden flowers.
