Lusitania Wet Meadow
This man-made wetland was designed to retain rainwater and slowly allow it to filter into Fresh Pond. In addition to purifying water, it also provides habitat for birds and other wildlife, and has become a favorite place for walkers to enjoy.
Here, a bit of ice is visible benneath the stalks of cattails with their fuzzy seedheads.
