Birding By Ear
Herb Pearce (front left in photo) shared his skill at using bird song to identify and find songbirds. During migration season, which is occurring now, this is an especially useful technique for locating small warblers as they hop around looking for caterpillars high in the trees.
The rain held off until about 5 minutes after we left the meeting place, and sprinkles continued until shortly after the walk was over. We didn't let it deter us, and nobody left early because they were worried about getting wet.
