Photography as a Contemplative Practice: Part II
Photographer and educator Patricia Turner returned to Fresh Pond to
lead a field excursion based on her presentation of September 15 that
explored a unique approach to photographing the world around us, which
she calls contemplative photography. Where traditional photography focuses
on subject and technique, her approach makes the connection between
meaning and personal experience the over-riding emphasis. Patricia gave
each of us a series of guided meditations designed to help us as photographers
to engage the landscape in this new and profoundly personal way.
Here, members of the group relax on the Neville patio at the end
of the program.
