Hornbeam or Musclewood (Carpinus caroliniana)
The seeds (called nutlets) of this pretty native understory tree dangle from the branches like ornaments. When they are mature, these seeds will fall off the stem, and perhaps their leaflike wing will help them be carried by the wind to a new location.
