Tree Swallow Nesting Boxes
Today the Reservation's 15 swallow nesting boxes were taken down and inspected. All have been abandoned by the fledgling swallows that were born and raised in them. The young birds are now sitting on dead tree branches, practicing flight, and still begging for food from Mom and Dad. The boxes will be cleaned and stored for the winter.
