Trees of Interest
A quick look at the unique bark of the tree on the left tells us it is a river birch (Betula nigra). Same for the tree in the middle, which is a shagbark hickory (Carya ovata). A closer look at the tree on the right reveals that it is a black locust (Robinia pseudiacacia), with Fresh Pond's celebrity screech owl in residence.
