Two Laurels
Mountain Laurel, Kalmia latifolia, and Sheep Laurel, K. angustifolia,
are two of New England's most beautiful wildflowers. As its name suggests,
the former grows in rocky woods. Sheep Laurel prefers swamps and pastures.
Both of these plants are growing in the Woodland Restoration Project,
and other specimens can be found in the woods at Fresh Pond Reservation
