Summer Bird Walk
Although we didn't see many birds in the Lusitania Wet Meadow, shown here, we did enjoy the abundant and colorful wildflowers. Our unusual sightings for the day were an unusually large number of herons at Black's Nook. We received a report (and apparently the birds did, also) that there had been a fish kill in the Nook, perhaps due to unusually high water temperatures and heavy growth of aquatic vegetation.
