Screech Owl in Residence
The place where one can see the hole where this screech owl sometimes roosts has become well known. It is near the "C" shaped bench at the bottom of the switchback path that winds down the Huron avenue hillside. The owl occasionally pops into view during the day, and every evening at about twilight it flies out to begin its evening of hunting for small animals such as voles or mice.
