Lusitania Wet Meadow
This manmade wet meadow was designed to capture rainwater running from the higher areas and to filter it before it drains into Fresh Pond. Today's rain shows the meadow holding water. The tree on the left is a Tupelo or Black Gum (Nyssa sylvatica), a tree commonly found in wetlands.
