Birding by Ear
A Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation Bird Walk
Led by birder and Friends group member Herb Pearce, participants look for an Orchard Oriole that Herb identified by its song. The ability to recognize a bird from its vocalizations is a skill that many people who like bird watching never master. On this walk, Herb's good ears helped us identify and locate 31 species.
