Haul of the Day
Volunteer Stewards show the results of a morning session during which
they removed the invasive weed called Garlic Mustard from the woods
near Lusitania Meadow. This fast-spreading non-native biennial can grow
so densely, it chokes out other plants - and it secretes a chemical
that suppresses the growth of other species.
The Stewards, under the leadership of Deb Albenberg (in this photo,
wearing red) of the Cambridge water Department, meet Monday evenings
from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and Thrusday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon.

Water Department Website.
