White Snakeroot, Eupatorium rugosum
The Woodland Restoration Project abounds with mounds of white fall flowers
including the Snakeroots shown here, also enlarged, White Wood Asters
(Eurybia divaricata), and Large-leaved Asters (Eurybia macrophylla).
All are native species that are believed to have grown in this area
of Massachusetts before the colonists arrived and began introducing
non-native species.
