A Gray Squirrel uses its fluffy tail as a blanket on a cold day. Squirrels
also wrap their tails around themselves for warmth when they sleep.
The large messy balls of leaves you occasionally see high in trees are
their winter nests, and are actually well constructed for maximum warmth.
Squirrels do not hibernate during the winter, but during especially
severe weather they may stay inside their nests.
