Screech is Back!

This red phase Screech Owl has been sighted frequently, sunning itself in a tree cavity near fencepost #506, above a relatively newly installed curved wooden bench. Birders have reported that screech owls have occupied at least two of the boxes that were put up on the Reservation for them a year ago: Box #2 near the Pond-end of the service road that begins on Concord Avenue, and Box #4 near the large beech trees and the Butterfly Meadow in back of Neville Place. There may also be an owl in Box #3 near the plath around Lusitania Meadow.
