Great Blue Heron
These large wading birds are occasionally seen on the banks of Fresh Pond or the smaller ponds on the reservation. They stand in shallow water waiting for an unsuspecting fish, frog, crayfish, or turtle to swim by, then grab it with theit enormous bill.
