Tree Swallows are Back!
A male Tree swallow stands guard on the roof of a nesting box at Fresh
Pond Reservation. Each year when these birds return to Fresh Pond from
their wintering grounds on the coast of the south-eastern United States
and Mexico, they immediately begin inspecting the boxes that were put
up for them. There are fourteen boxes, made by Friends of Fresh Pond
Reservation and the Cambridge Water Department.
