Three Gardeners
Suzanna Black, this year's Fresh Pond Stewardship Award co-recipient,*
stands between fellow gardeners Elizabeth Wylde (left) and Betsy Meyer.
The three women worked well over 200 hours since this spring tending
to the Fresh Pond Woodland Restoration Project that Suzanna started
in 2008. In addition to weeding and planting, they spent many hours
using a wagon to haul water from a nearby garden faucet in 1-gallon
milk jugs. The plants survived this summer's drought with flying colors.
* Jim Barton was the other recipient.
