Dandelion Fruit (Taraxacum officinale)
Perimeter Road Near the Golf Course
The dandelion, a native of Eurasia grows in nearly every country throughout
the world. The yellow flower heads are solitary and have numerous (100-300)
yellow rays and bloom from March to September. When the yellow heads
dry up, a white puffball containing seeds forms. A breeze scatters these
seeds in all directions like mini parachutes.
