Common Blue or Meadow Violet (Viola papilionacea)

Common Blue Violets are spring wildflowers that can be found
growing throughout the Reservation. These violets grow on
Perimeter Road between Lusitania Meadow and Sousa's Rock.
The flowers can be white, blue, or light to dark purple. The
heart shaped leaves are high in vitamins A and C and can
be used in salads or cooked as greens.
