Nature Lives!
Led by Tom Murray (kneeling, left photo) and Larry Millman
(kneeling, second photo), a group of boot-clad adventurers ventured
into the wet woods of the Reservation to look for signs of spring. We
found plenty of life, including invertebrates under leaves, logs and
boards; fungi growing on living and dead wood, birds in the trees and
on the water; and woody and perennial plants beginning to leaf out.
In the third photo, participants are using lenses to examine tiny fungi
growing on the dying limb of an American beech. In the fourth photo,
taken by Betsy Meyer, Tom is photographing a Leopard Slug.
