Spring Bird Walk
The first day of spring was atypically spring-like (for eastern Massachusetts) this year. We were serenaded by the songs Northern Cardinals, Song Sparrows and Redwing Blackbirds, and the scratchy chatter of Common Grackles. In this photo we are observing the day's most unexpected birds: a flock of 6 Green-winged Teal, swimming in the middle of Fresh Pond.
