March 2, 2010 The heavy rains and wind of last week have resulted in several downed trees. The hillside on back of Sousa's Rock has lost several Black Locusts and at least one American Beech, knocked down by the Locusts (left photo.) A small Black Cherryin the woods south of Little Fresh Pond also toppled (center photo.) Mallards dabbling in the Lusitania Meadow took advantage of the abundance of water in the wetland (right photo.) |
