Golf Course Clubhouse Hillside

This slope adjacent to the steep path down to the Pond from the golf course clubhouse, is the site of a major landscape restoration project. A jungle of invasive weeds and trees was removed, new topsoil was added, and measures were taken to stabilize the soil so that rainwater will not wash it away. The area was planted with native species whose roots will grip the soil. A storm water retention basin was installed at the top of the hill. This shallow depression, about 20 feet in diameter, is planted with immersion-tolerant native plants, and will retain water while allowing it to filter into the ground where it will gradually move downward toward the reservoir.
