Swamp Rose-Mallow, Hibiscus moscheutos
Looking like something you might expect to find on a tropical island,
this enormous flower (about 10-inch diameter) was produced by a plant
that is a Massachusetts native. This plant is growing in the planting
bed in the Water Department parking lot. At the other end of the garden,
the mallows of the same species are totally pink.
