Cambridge Water Department Parking Lot Planting Bed

Volunteers Suzanna Black and Elizabeth Wylde assisted Reservation Site Supervisor Vince Falcione in designing and planting this perennial garden on the island in front of the Walter J. Sullivan Water Purification Facility.
The colorful array of late summer flowers include (small pictures from left to right): Rose Mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos), Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta), New England Aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae), Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis), Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), New York Aster (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii), New England Blazing Star (Liatris scariosa), and Giant Blue Lobelia (Lobelia syphilitica.)
