Large Milkweed Bug, Oncopeltus fasciatus

As summer fades, these bugs seem to be on every milkweed plant, usually in large clusters with individuals of many sizes. They do not seem to prevent the plants from reproducing. Their bright coloration is probably a warning that they are toxic , due to poisons in the juice of their host plant.
