An Evening of "Green Music" by the Landmark Symphony Orchestra
Fresh Pond Reservation Stewards, the hard-working volunteers who every
summer remove invasive weeds from the Reservation's conservation areas,
were invited by their leader, Emily Tansey (Cambridge Water Department
Manager's Assistant), and Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation to this
concert at the Hatch shell on the Boston Esplanade.
The music included nature-inspired compositions by Respighi, Mendelssohn,
Handel, and Landmarks Orchestra's newest commission, The Story of Frederick
Law Olmsted, composed by Thomas Oboe Lee with story by Nancy Stevenson.
The Omstead piece was narrated by former Massachusetts Governor Michael
Dukakas.
