Lusitania Field Wetland
The early morning sun backlights these wetland plants, including clusters
of Common Cattails,Typha latifolia. The meadow has been the focus
of many hours of labor this summer by volunteers and paid landscape
workers, who removed truckloads of the invasive weed called Mugwort,
Artemisia vulgaris, that towered over all of the native species.
The newly uncovered plants include many pink, purple, and white asters.
