Weeders!
These five women have just spent two hours removing Buckthorns, invasive
under-story trees, from the woods in back of Neville Place. Teams of
volunteers participating in the Cambridge Water Department's "Fresh
Pond Stewardship Program" have worked for more than 500 hours this
year, removing weeds from recently restored areas on the northeast side
of Fresh Pond. The orange tools are Weed Wrenches®, indispensable
time-savers that can be used to pull small trees out of the ground,
roots and all.
