Rugosa Rose (Rosa rugosa)
Many Pond-walkers enjoy the fragrant flowers of these two shrubs growing
near the Pond Road adjacent to the Old Meadow area. Rugosa Roses were
brought to this country from Asia for use as windbreaks and as living
fences. Although in some areas they are considered invasive, they do
not appear to have spread very much at Fresh Pond
