Birding by Ear
During this bird walk led by Herb Pearce (front left of photo), we focused on identifying birds by their songs. Here, participants are scanning the treetops to locate a Warbling Vireo that was singing loudly. Spring is the best time to listen to birdsong, as birds vocalize to find mates and to defend their territories.
